Totally Techniques – Mirror Stamping

Welcome to the Totally Techniques Blog Hop! I’m Lynsay Mahon from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Each month the Totally techniques Design Team chooses a technique to showcase and share projects. This month we are showcasing “mirror stamping.”

Mirror stamping is a technique that helps you get the most out of your stamps. It gives you ability to change the position of the stamp so you can make it face the other direction.

I wanted to have the two cows from the “Cutest Cows” stamp set face each other. In order to do that, I needed the second cow to flip to its mirror image. There’s one tool that makes this process simple: the Silicon Mat!

The first step is to stamp the image you’d like reversed onto the Silicone Mat.

The next step is to press the paper you’d like the image on over the Silicone Mat and then the image transfers in reverse!

By having my cows face each other, I was able to build a cute scene with the rest of the images in the set. I used the Deckled Rectangles to cut out a window in the card front and adhered a piece of window sheet under it. This allowed me to build a scene on top of it to create the 3D feel!

The Mirror Stamping technique is an easy way to flip your images! I hope you’ll give it a try. Be sure to hop along with the rest of the team to see more projects using this fun techniques.
