Totally Techniques – Shaker Cards

Welcome to the Totally Techniques Blog Hop! I’m Lynsay Mahon from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Each month we share projects showcasing different techniques. This month we are showcasing shaker cards.

Shaker cards are a fun, interactive card style. I used the traditional shaker card technique to make my project.

In order to achieve a shaker card look you need the following:

  1. A cut out shape. On my card I used the balloon die from the Beautiful Balloons Bundle.
  2. Window sheets. I used the Gold Celebrations 12×12 Specialty Designer Series Paper to create the feel of a printed balloon.
  3. Confetti for shaker filler. I used the confetti die in the Beautiful Balloons Bundle.
  4. Foam Adhesive Strips to create the gap to allow the filler to shake.

I used some of Stampin’ Up!’s new colours to create this bright and cheery birthday card. They included Lemon Lime Twist and Bubble Bath.
