Totally Techniques – Mirror Stamping

Welcome to the Totally Techniques Blog Hop! I’m Lynsay Mahon from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Each month, our international team of crafters chooses a technique to feature in our projects. This month, our technique is “mirror stamping.” This is a great technique if you want to have an image face itself!

The Party Puffins stamp set is a perfect set to showcase this technique! It really helps to have a Stamparatus and a silicone craft sheet.

To get the reverse or “mirror” image, place the stamp on the stamparatus plate, ink and then stamp onto the Silicone Craft Sheet. I recommend re-inking and repeating a couple of times to get a strong image.

Once you have the image, add a piece of cardstock over the silicone mat and then shut the stamparatus plate. The stamp will help press the image into the paper from the silicone mat.

Next, clean the stamp, then reposition the stamp next to the image. Ink and press into the stamp to give yourself a mirrored image!

Here is how the mirrored puffins came together on my card:

I love how the two little puffins are deep in Christmas conversation!
