Totally Techniques – Watercoloring

Welcome to the Totally Techniques Blog Hop! I’m Lynsay Mahon, from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Each month our team features a technique and showcases our projects using that technique.

August’s technique is one of my favourites: watercoloring! I love to watercolour and it was a great excuse to bring out my Watercolor Pencils and my Water Painters.

The best ink for watercoloring is StazOn so that the ink doesn’t run on the image. I wanted a nice, crisp, black image, so used my Jet Black StazOn to stamp these candy apples:

I used the watercolor pencils to fill in the colour and then used my Water Painter to blend the colour to get the watercolor effect.

Once the watercoloring had dried, I used the Shimmery Crystal Effects to give the apple dip some texture. I can almost taste the candy, caramel and chocolate dip on these apples!

The white dots are added from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Acrylic Shapes.

Be sure to hop along with the rest of the team to see other great projects using watercoloring techniques! Click on the blue dot below to see the team list:
