Welcome to the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop! I’m Lynsay Mahon, from Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Each month our team chooses a theme to create around, and we share our projects so you can enjoy paper crafting inspiration.
This month, our theme was “Paper Party.” The goal was to showcase new papers from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. I knew that I had to choose my new favourite: the Ombre Specialty Paper. This glitter paper comes in four colours: Gorgeous Grape, Poppy Parade, Mango Melody and Night of Navy. It is so beautiful and great way to add a touch of glimmer to a project.
For my first project, I made a card that could show off the spectrum of the Ombre Specialty Paper.

I used a 1/2″ strip of the Ombre Specialty Paper, cut to show off the spectrum. I adhered it to the coordinating Poppy Parade Cardstock. The “Hooray” greeting comes from the What a Year Memories & More Card Pack

This card uses the Count on Me Stamp Set. It’s filled with cute animal images that are perfect for colouring. I can’t get enough of this set!

For my second project, I made a treat container and tag, using the same stamp set.

I incorporated the Ombre Specialty Paper into the detailed band along the bottom of the tag and also the scallop embellishment under the greeting. When using a paper like that, I find I prefer it best to keep its usage subtle so they can really shine!

Such fun and easy way to package up a gift card or treat that will be equally as fun to give.
Be sure to continue hopping along with the rest of the team to see their versions of projects using paper from the new Annual Catalogue. Please click on the blue button below to see the list of blogs.
