Welcome to the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop! I’m Lynsay Mahon, from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Each month, our team chooses a suite or product to feature and this month we are featuring the new Gilded Leafing Embellishment! This elegant gold leafing is absolutely stunning on projects and is truly one of my new favourite technique products released by Stampin’ Up!
I’ve featured the Gilded Leafing Embellishment in 2 ways. The first way is using the Love You Always Treat Boxes. These treat boxes are ready to assemble and are sized at 4-1/16″ x 2-11/16″ x 1-1/2″. They are food safe and ready to fill with your favourite treats to share with a friend.
With Valentine’s Day on my mind, I created a treat box that would be perfect for adding chocolate dipped strawberries to (it would fit two perfectly). Check out how beautiful the strawberries look dipped in chocolate and gilded in gold.

I created the “chocolate” by adding Early Espresso Ink Refill to the Shimmery Crystal Effects, mixed it, and used a paint brush to apply to the bottom of the punched out strawberries. I then carefully placed the Gilded Leafing onto the glue, allowed to dry, then used a sponge to remove the excess.

Doesn’t it look realistic?

The second project I made uses Stampin’ Up!’s Adhesive Sheets. These sheets can be laid over your paper prior to diecutting to leave adhesive in the shape you need.

Once diecut, I removed the backing and applied the Gilded Leafing to the sticky surface. Using a sponge, I removed the excess to create gold, dipped flowers!

I love how elegant these look!
