Episode 37 of “Why Did I Buy This?” featured the Simply Scored Tool by Stampin’ Up!. Best known for making fancy fold cards, the Simply Scored tool is perfect for adding precise scoring to your projects. However… I found a couple of ways to use this tool that are TOTALLY out of the box! Be sure to catch the replay of the episode here!
I love the idea of using a tool in ways that are different from how they are intended and when I really evaluated my Simply Scored Tool, I immediately got the idea to use the lined platform as a way to add unique texture to a project.

I used my Versamark to ink the lines on the Simply Scored Tool and pressed a piece of white cardstock on top of it. I coated the paper in Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and used my heat tool to set it. Once it was dry, I used my new Blending Brushes (stay tuned for their release in January), to add ink to over the embossed image to create an Emboss Resist technique!

I also used my Simply Scored Tool to add a few textured lines to the Pool Party card front to create a little bit of interest in the corners.

Do you have a Simply Scored Tool? Does it have a permanent place on your counter, or do you bring it out just for special projects? Mine now has a permanent place – I use it ALL the time!
Check out Episode 37 for more reasons to love your Simply Scored Tool!
