Stamping Sunday Blog Hop – Over the Top Christmas

Welcome to October’s Stamping Sunday Blog Hop! I’m Lynsay Mahon, from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and I’m excited to share with you this month’s theme of “over the top Christmas.”

What does “over the top” mean? For me that means taking the extra time to colour, layer and add techniques. These are the kind of projects that are made for extra special recipients who you know will love the above and beyond nature of the project.

For my first project, I brought in a set that I’m crushing over, called Don’t Stop Believing’.

The little elf is perfect for colouring with Stampin’ Blends Markers! I was inspired by the mess of lights around the elf to add in my favourite Metallic Mesh Ribbon in the background to add to the illusion of being wrapped up. It kind of gives the feeling of being tangled in tinsel!

For my 3-D project, I used the same stamp set and figured out a way to make Stampin’ Up!’s Round Tins into a shaker tin!

I can’t wait to fill the tin with some hot cocoa mix and gift it to friends this holiday season!
