Why Did I Buy This? Paper Trimmer

Each week I host a Facebook Live called “Why Did I Buy This?” The idea is to highlight a product and show different techniques you can do with it. It’s a great way to be inspired and see which products you’d like to use up in your craft collection!

Episode 26 featured a MUST have tool, the Paper Trimmer! This tool is how you’ll get straight edge cuts and scores in your paper.

I wanted to showcase a project technique I learned at my very first workshop, nearly 18 years ago. This is called a “bag-a-lope.” The idea is to take an envelope, and score it, and fold it into a bag. To see how I achieved it, be sure to catch the replay of Episode 26 of “Why Did I Buy This?”

It’s amazing how a plain envelope can be transformed into a little gift bag. I took a Stampin’ Spritzer with Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink Refill in it, mixed with water, to give the orange texture. Then I stamped over the envelope with Memento ink to add the bat images.

This is a great way to package up little Halloween treats to pass along to my friends’ kiddos.

Of course, you can use any size of envelope and it’ll give you a different size bag! Have you tried this technique before?
