Episode 24 of “Why Did I Buy This?” featured a new holiday product called, the Festive Felt Sheets Combo Pack. These felt sheets are 6″x12″ and come in a pack of 4 sheets including Just Jade, Early Espresso, Real Red and Whisper White. Oh my goodness, did I ever have fun playing with this product! If you missed the live, you can catch the replay here.
As I was playing with the felt, I thought about how the texture can really “grab” onto powder like glitter or embossing powder… and then I got an idea! I grabbed my versamark and added it to the top of the felt. I sprinkled White Stampin’ Emboss Powder over it, and used my Heat Tool to emboss it. The end result was felt that looked like it had been covered in frost!!!

I love the fun texture this adds to the card!

It really gives the feel of a frosty winter day making it a perfect “wow factor” for this card!

Thanks to Martin Stone for the Card Sketch challenge on the above card!
Of course, once I started playing with it, I had a hard time stopping! On my next project, I added the Foam Adhesive Sheet to the back of the Just Jade felt and ran in through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (aka. the Big Boss) with the Pine Woods Dies. I used my versamark to cover the tree and then used a combo of White Stampin’ Emboss with glitter over top of the tree. The effect is a glistening, frosty looking tree!

The glitter in the embossing is hard to photograph, but it creates a beautiful shimmer on the tree.

I NEVER knew how much I was missing by not incorporating felt into my projects before! Check out the “live action” of these and other cards on Episode 24 of “Why Did I Buy This?”
