Welcome to June’s Totally Techniques Blog Hop! I’m Lynsay Mahon from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This month we are sharing our take on Satomi Wellard’s favourite technique: One Sheet Wonder.
One Sheet Wonder is a way to make several projects really quickly. You can either use designer series paper if you want something that easily coordinates, or you can opt to make your own One Sheet Wonder.
I decided to create my own sheet by stamping in Coastal Cabana and Mint Macaron onto Whisper White cardstock, using the new stamp set, “Nothing’s Better Than.” It’s easy to stamp a repeating image all over the sheet. Then you can cut it up into different sized pieces to use on a variety of projects.
I volunteer for a service dog organization called Dogs With Wings, and the dog I’m fostering for them had puppies this week! So naturally, I needed to make a card all about coffee, because let’s face it… I’m not getting a lot of sleep with newborn puppies around!
Once I had my one sheet stamped, I was able to create a couple of projects to share with you today. Normally I would have made a few more to really show you how well this technique translates to a lot of projects, but… see above! My time is limited this week 😉
The first project I made uses a 3″x4″ piece of the one sheet wonder as a focal point on the card. I love this bundle and it’s 60s themed, cheeky sayings.
I love how the resin dots really have the same feel as this “Nothing’s Better Than” Bundle.
My second card, I really brought in a lot of texture by using the Little Details 3D embossing folder. The One Sheet Wonder strip was 1″x5″ long and gave a fun boarder.
Here’s a close up of all of that wonderful texture!
I’ve discovered this week that I can’t get enough coffee, or of this bundle!
