Episode 15 of “Why Did I Buy This?” featured a very affordable colouring tool: Watercolor Pencils. Stampin’ Up! offers 2 different assortments of colours and they last a very long time. They are a great beginner option for colouring and can be used for many different techniques. If you missed Episode 15 of my Facebook Lives, you can catch the replay here.
I love using Watercolor Pencils to create dimension on two-step stamps. This is a technique I reach for often when I’m looking to create a more realistic image on my projects.
This card was made with the “Nothing’s Better Than” bundle. I love this cheeky bundle and the great overlap between the stamped images and the dies.

I used Early Espresso Classic Ink for the two-step chocolate stamp, and then added shading with the black watercolor pencil. The icing on the chocolate was with the watercolor pencils as well, and then I used a blender pen to blend out the lines. Once I had the shading “just so” I used Shimmery Crystal Effects on the icing to give it texture.

It looks almost good enough to eat!
