Totally Techniques – Watercoloring

Welcome to the Totally Techniques Blog Hop!  I’m Lynsay Mahon, from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  Each month we feature a technique and our team showcases their creative talents, using that technique!

This month, it was my turn to choose and technique, and of course, I had to choose “watercoloring”

I love watercoloring! There are so many colouring tools that you can use to watercolor and it really is a beautiful way to add colour to a project!

For my project, I wanted to share a technique that I call “Two-step Watercoloring.” It’s a pretty simple technique that adds a whole other layer of texture to the image!

Here’s how to do it:

  • Stamp a line draw image.
  • Use the two-step stamp to fill in the image. Alternatively you can use Sponge Daubers.
  • Use coordinating watercolor pencils to add shading.
  • Use an aqua painter or blender pen to blend the extra pigment .
