Stamping Sunday Blog Hop Preview 2020

Welcome to the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop! I’m Lynsay Mahon, from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Each month we feature a topic and share our versions of the theme. This month, we were all eager to dig into our new Annual Catalogue products to share what will be up and coming on June 3, 2020.

I’m always looking for a good “thinking of you” style of card, so I was thrilled with the new set Comfort and Hope.

Available June 3, 2020

It has some great sayings in it and I really love the textured backgrounds.

This set is perfect for beginner to avid stampers. For my beginner crafters, I wanted to share a card for you that uses just two colours of ink and two colours of cardstock. I love when you can use minimal supplies and still get the look of a complex card:

Beginner Crafters can make a card with only 2 inks and 2 colours of paper

For my Casual Crafters, I’ve added in heat embossing with Silver Embossing powder, some fussy cutting and some rhinestones to make a stepped up version of this design:

A stepped up version with embossing and rhinestones

For my Avid Crafters who have multiple products at your disposal, I’ve added a few more steps. On this card, I’ve added a die cut layer of vellum, as well as a strip of paper that uses the technique “Mother of Pearl.” To create this look, I stippled Frost White Shimmer Paint onto Whisper White Cardstock, allowed to dry, then used the Sponge Brayer to roll Highland Heather ink over it. Wherever the Shimmer Paint is, the ink was resisted and you get a shimmery lighter layer. It made for a layer of interest on the card.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing a sneak peek from our upcoming Annual Catalogue! There’s some amazing new stamp sets coming out. To see more new products in action, keep hopping along with the rest of our team by clicking the blue button below:
