Our new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue is scheduled to go live on June 3, 2020 and with that comes the anticipation of new colours, stamp sets and embellishments!  I’m totally in love with this catalogue!  Allow me to tempt you with the cover, hot off the presses!

With a new catalogue, we make way for new products and that means the retirement of some favourites.  It’s a bitter sweet time for crafters!  We all look forward to the new, but hate to say goodbye to the products we love.

Luckily for you, there is still time to stock your craft room with your favourites before they leave!  Let me share with you one set that, although retiring, will never leave my collection:

I generally make room in my studio for new products, but sets and dies that have sentimental value stay with me.

The thing about this particular set is it makes me think of my husband, Bruce.  Ever since we met, my pet name for him has been “Bee.”  Back when we started dating, email had just been invented (ummmm… ya… seriously…), and we lived in different cities, 5 hours apart.  We were hand writing letters as well as writing emails to keep in touch in between the long road trips to visit in person.  Bruce always signed his letters, “Bee.”  I was a Conservation Biologist at the time, and I think he knew if he threw some “nature” into the correspondence, he’d win my heart.  It worked! 😉

Just like his nickname, this stamp set has stuck with me – and I think that you need it too!  Look at how amazing this set works with the Versamark Resist Technique:

Honey Bee-001

Here’s how to accomplish this look:

  1. Ink the bee stamp in Versamark and stamp over Whisper White cardstock.
  2. Roll your Sponge Brayer in Mango Melody Classic Ink and roll over your stamped image.  Keep applying ink until you achieve the saturation you like.

That’s it!  No heat setting!  The Versamark Ink resists the colour and shows through giving a subtle and beautiful affect.

If you’d like to learn more about what the Sponge Brayer can do, Episode 8 of “Why Did I Buy This?” features this versatile tool!  You can watch the replay to see more techniques.

Which sets from the retiring list are on your “forever” list?  The Honey Bee Bundle will forever “BEE” mine!
