Episode 8 of “Why Did I Buy This?”highlighted a simple yet very versatile product: Sponge Brayers. Brayers were designed for techniques! You’ll see in the projects I showcased in my Facebook Live, there are a number of techniques!
Take a look at the 5 different projects I shared in the live. For details on how these were made, be sure to tune into Episode 8 on my facebook page: www.facebook.com/inkythumbs
Each of these projects uses greetings from the Share Sunshine PDF – a fundraiser sponsored by Stampin’ Up! with 100% of the money going to organizations that support Covid-19 relief! You can automatically download the PDF for $12 USD by clicking here.
The first project showcases the use of Sponge Brayers to create and ombre background.
The next projects shows the use of elastics to create your own background paper with the Sponge Brayer:
Next, I shared a technique called Versamark Resist. See the subtle flowers popping out from the Flirty Flamingo layer on the right?
The next card I shared is a stepped up version of the technique Embossing Resist. After braying the colour over the flowers, I used Stampin’ Write markers to really make the image pop:
I just love this last project! It’s using a technique called “Joseph’s Coat.” Be sure to watch the video to see how I did this!
I hope this inspires you to pull out your Sponge Brayer and make some projects! If you don’t have a Sponge Brayer, you can visit my store to buy one!
