One of my friends challenged me to come up with some ways to use Stampin’ Write Markers outside of colouring… challenge accepted!
This card makes me smile every time I look at it! It is using a style that makes me think of vintage post cards, but with a modern twist!
A Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker is used to free style draw the border lines around the card front. I love this method because it is meant to be imperfect meaning you don’t need any special tools to do it! And – Basic Black is the one Stampin’ Write Marker that you can get as a solo marker!
Here is the finished project:
I used the leaves from the Poppy Moments Dies to create a feeling of sea weed on the card that our sweet mermaid is swimming through. Vellum is such a great way to give texture to the card front.
I used 3 colours of Stampin’ Write Markers on her tail: Pear Pizzaz, Old Olive and Coastal Cabana. I wanted to give the feeling of light shimmering off of her tail. I finished off her tail and hair with Wink of Stella – the perfect tool to add a little shimmer “magic” to any project.
I’ll keep working on the challenge of finding unique ways to incorporate Stampin’ Write Markers. If you have a suggestion, leave me a comment below! I’d love to give it a try!
