Welcome to the Totally Techniques Blog Hop! I’m Lynsay Mahon from Edmonton, Alberta Canada.
This month, our featured technique is “Simple Stamping.” Sometimes you just need a really quick card! Whether you are new to card making or just looking for a “get it done” kind of card, know how to keep things simple is very helpful!
For my Simple Stamping, I wanted to keep the projects to Stamps, Ink and Paper (commonly referred to as SIP). With Valentines Day approaching, I really wanted to make a couple of cute cards I could hand out to friends.
I’m a sucker for punny valentines and the Garden Goodness stamp set is perfect for puns:
My first card was inspired by a pair of socks that I saw:
How cute is this!? Of course I didn’t have a stamp that had the right greeting, so I made my own with my computer and printed it on cardstock. The hands, feet and faces are drawn on with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. The heart is from the Happy Tails set. I use that heart A LOT! It’s the perfect size!
I made a second punny card that’s pretty cute:
To create the greeting on my second card, I used an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to omit some of the words from a different greeting. I then created the rest of the words with my computer, printed on Real Red cardstock and fussy cut it out. The faces were hand drawn in to make the cute little tomatoes.
Be sure to keep hopping along with the rest of our Totally Techniques team to see more projects using the Simple Stamping Technique! Keep hopping by visiting the next blog, by the talented Annette!
