Stamping Sunday Blog Hop – Gingham Gala

Welcome to the Stamping Sunday blog hop!   You have just arrived in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and I am Lynsay Mahon.  You can see the list of the design team members to hop along with today, by clicking on the blue button:

This month, our team is showcasing the Butterfly Gala Suite.  This collection is particularly exciting for me to feature as it is the one that we are using at the Flying Colours Craft Day, a fundraiser in support of Dogs With Wings!  I volunteer as an Adult Raiser for Dogs With Wings; an organization that trains and places assistance dogs.  They are a not-for-profit charity and rely exclusively on donations to support this noble effort.  I’m very excited to be offering a fundraiser on Feb. 23. You can read more about this full day craft event at the bottom of this post!

I wanted to share with you how you can use this suite in 3 ways, depending on your time and product available.

The first version of this card really focuses on “Simple Stamping.”  This project is meant to be quick and easy!

This card is called a “Z-fold” card.  Here’s how it opens:

To make this fold, use a piece of 4.25×11″ paper.  Score at 2-3/4″ & 5.5″ and fold the 2-3/4″ section back on itself to create the Z.

You can step up this card a little by adding the Gingham Gala Sequins and adding another punch layer.  It’s subtle, but adding embellishments does up the wow factor!

Here’s what the card looks like with the fold open:

And finally, for those of you who love to layer and embellish, check out this one!  I added another butterfly using the butterfly punch. I also added a layer using the new Rectangle Stitched framelits (one of my new favourites!) and some of the Sale-a-bration reward ribbon.

Whether simple or elaborate, you can create a beautiful card with the Butterfly Gala collection!
