Brusho, is a watercolor crystal. Stampin’ Up! carries 5 colors: Brilliant Red, Gamboge (orange), Moss Green, Prussian Blue, and Yellow. If you love techniques, you are going to love playing with this incredibly versatile product!

Brusho watercolor crystals are dry until activated by something wet. After they come into contact with water, they become vibrant in color. The product is intermixable with each other, to create many color combinations!
The first project I wanted to share with you, I experimented with a “swipe” technique. After sprinkling red brusho onto shimmery white cardstock, I used a baby wipe to “swipe” down the page creating this beautiful, streaked background:
It has the effect of brushstrokes, but is completed in seconds with something as inexpensive as a baby wipe!
For the second project, I wanted to work with another favourite technique product of mine: embossing paste! Here’s how I made this card:
- Lay the Sweet Soiree Decorative Masks over the shimmery white cardstock.
- Smear embossing paste over the mask to create the flower image.
- While the embossing paste is wet, shake yellow Brusho over the flower and cardstock.
- Spritz the cardstock with water so that the paint develops and creates the background and flower color.
- Add the greeting and vellum flags and layer on the card base.
- Finish by embellishing with glitter enamel dots.
Here’s another look:
I love how the brusho creates a speckled look within the watercolor background.
I hope you get a chance to play with Brusho! It is definitely top of my list this crafting season!

Love them both Lynsay! The swipe caught my eye first but it’s a good thing I kept reading! I’ll have to be trying it and a little play with embossing paste.

Wow Lynsay, love your projects. I’m definitely going to ‘steal’ the baby wipe technique from you for a future project. Love it.
