Stamping Sunday Blog Hop Spooky Night and Painted Autumn

Welcome to the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop! You are joining me in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and my name is Lynsay Mahon.

This month, we are featuring two designer series paper packs in our blog hop: Spooky Night and Painted Autumn.  You can see the designs here:

They are some of my favourite papers in Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday catalogue.  What I like the most about these 12×12 papers, is their versatility.  Each of these paper packs have a strong fall or halloween theme.  But because the papers are double sided, the themes become year round with the other side being more general.

I wanted to share with you their versatility by sharing some projects using the more general designs.

The first project I want to show you is a sneak peak of some gifts for some very specials friends I’ll get to spend some time with in Salt Lake City, Utah in November.  Stampin’ Up! is hosting their OnStage event for demonstrators (think thousands of crafters joining together to learn new techniques and be the first to see new products!!).  I have met some AMAZING friends through Stampin’ Up! and one of my favourite things about attending events is getting to catch up with them.  Although I won’t reveal the contents of the box (shhhh…), I will show you the packaging:

I used a white box and covered it with the Painted Harvest designer series paper.  The belly band is made with the same paper, and the whole thing slides off so the recipient can easily access what’s inside!

The second project I made is using the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper.  Again, I wanted to share how a VERY Halloween themed paper, could be converted into something not at all spooky!

These little boxes are the Mini Pizza Boxes from Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday catalogue.  I dyed them using the mini spritzer bottles filled with water and 10 drops of reinker. I dried it with the heat tool so the ink lightly stains the box.

The belly band also slides off the box to make access to the inside easy without disrupting the designs.

These are easy and fast to put together and could easily be filled will little treats to brighten someone’s day.
