Stamping Sunday Blog Hop: Eastern Palace Suite

Welcome to the Stamping Sunday blog hop!  You have arrived in Edmonton, AB, Canada and I’m Lynsay Mahon!  Thanks for joining us!

This week’s featured projects are super exciting because they preview a new product suite called “Eastern Elegance.”  This suite is exciting for a few of reasons:

1. It gives you a sneak peak of 3 new In Colors!  Each year Stampin’ up! releases 5 new In Colors, all on the latest colour trends.  Everyone waits with baited breath to see what our new In Colors will be!  This suite gives you a look at: Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, and Tranquil Tide
2. This suite is an early release for you to purchase!  The annual catalogue is released on June 1, but this specific suite is available to purchase May 2-31 sold in bundles with free gifts included!
3. And finally, the suite itself is incredible!  The stamps are fresh and the framelits are like nothing I’ve seen before.  Check out the images in the framelits:

The blue is what is cut out with the framelits.  You can see the framelits on the left are negative images and partial die-cuts.  The possibilities with these are going to be so fun!

I have been playing with many of the items in the suite: the framelits, tassels, and gold, vinyl stickers stand out as some of my favourites!  Check out this card I made with these products:

Here’s a closer look at the raised focal cut out:

Here’s how I made it:

1. Use adhesive to stick strips of the designer series paper onto printer paper (this helps keep the layers thin to cut with your framelit.
2. Use the 6 point framelit to cut out the flower
3. Use the same framelit to cut out 12 more of the flowers using Very Vanilla paper.  Adhere all of these layers together.
4. Peel and stick the gold circle sticker onto the front of the card.
5. Layer the very vanilla pieces and finish with the designer series paper (DSP) image you originally cut out of the card base.
6. Peel and stick the coordinating 6 point gold sticker over top of the DSP layer (it coordinates perfectly).
7. Finish with the hello greeting on very vanilla, flagged at the end.
8. To embellish, wrap linen thread twice around the card, and tie a gold tassel into the knot before tying in a bow.

What I love about these framelits are the negative images that can be cut.  Look at how simple it is to adorn an envelop with these framelits:
