Glimmer Paper: What is it and Why you need it

I’m a little bit obsessed with glitter.  Once, I had been crafting before we went out for dinner.  Later in the evening, I checked in the mirror to discover that I had glitter all over my face.  I asked my husband, “why didn’t you tell me?” He said, “Lynsay, it would be easier to tell you when you DON’T have glitter on your face.”

Fair enough.

Naturally, when Stampin’ Up! released their newest round of Sale-a-bration products that you can earn free with a $60 CDN order, I was smitten with the new 6×6 Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack!  It comes in 3 colours: Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron, and Sweet Sugarplum.  There are 12 sheets in total and it’s perfect for spring and Easter.

Here is a video Stampin’ Up! released to show you who sparkly it really is:

I love using glimmer paper to die cut intricate thinlits with my big shot.  That way, the glitter is already in place and there is no fuss!  You simply glue your image in place.  Here’s an example of the Butterfly thinlits cut out in the Bermuda Bay glimmer paper:

Simple, yet the glimmer paper gives it a wow!

The background “swoosh” was done with bermuda bay ink and an aqua painter.  I just brushed the colour onto the watercolour paper and let it dry before I stamped the “ENJOY” greeting.  The black speckles are also done with the aqua painter.  Dip the brush into the ink and “tap” the brush over your finger so that the ink splatters onto the background.

Now, I know that some of you may not be a fan of the glitter.  Is that you?  It’s ok.  We can still be friends.  But truly, if you’re going to join us on the sparkly side, this glimmer paper is the way to go.
