Clear Blocks and Alphabet Stampsets – a Match Made in Heaven!

I’m a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to stamps.  I tend to migrate to the wood blocks over the clear blocks a lot… mostly because I am a messy crafter and I don’t like to clean up and put the clear stamps away properly (insert sheepish grin here).

However, there are 2 types of stamp sets that I LOVE clear for:

  1. greeting stampsets
  2. alphabet stamp sets
There is nothing like being able to see through the block to position the letters, exactly where you need them.

This became ever so obvious today when I was making this baby card:

It looks like it would take forever to stamp the background letters, yes?

NO!  Watch how clever those clear blocks are:

SO simple!  This meant that I only had to ink the whole block once to stamp the background!  This technique works well for multiple card making (huge time saver), or stamping names or dates.  Love it.

What is your preference: wood or clear?  Leave me a comment and we’ll take a poll.
